ICMRI LOGO

The emblem for the “International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research and Innovations” (ICMRI), which is being co-organized by Western Mindanao State University and Universidad Politécnica Salesiana Ecuador, represents the values of unity, diversity, and intellect. The gathering of experts from all around the world in the round logo represents the conference’s international scope, uniting them in the shared quest for knowledge. Reminiscent of the DNA molecule, the stylized double helix serves as the design’s central element and represents the participants’ innate curiosity, scientific acumen, and inventiveness.

Intricately modeled after traditional “vinta” sail patterns, this double helix pays homage to Western Mindanao’s rich cultural history. Incorporating designs from the world-renown Yakan Tribe’s woven textiles further enriches the cultural experience by symbolizing the complex interweaving of thoughts and the wealth of collective knowledge from many fields.

The intricate and lovely mosaic of interdisciplinary inquiry is symbolized by the intertwined threads in Yakan textiles, and the interweaving strands of the DNA double helix imply the connectivity of many domains of study. The vibrant and varied color scheme reflects the diverse nature of the conference’s theme and serves to further highlight the cultural and disciplinary variety present.

In addition to representing the ICMRI’s mission to foster innovation, collaboration, and information sharing, the emblem conjures up the picture of two hands joined together. This show of solidarity exemplifies the conference’s mission to promote collaboration among scholars and the sharing of information and best practices in a variety of disciplines.

At its core, the logo is not just a visual identity but a narrative of convergence — it tells a story of how ideas, indigenous art, and academic collaboration come together to form a dynamic and ever-changing field of multidisciplinary research in the post-pandemic world.
